1.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes - I currently take: Aetna, United/Optum and Medicaid (CO Access, only).  I also accept cash, checks, credit cards and HSA payments.  Please contact me directly for pricing information.

2.

How does therapy work?

My clients typically come to see me every week or every other week.  Your appointment typically lasts 45 minutes.  This is a time slot that is reserved just for you on my calendar.  Towards the beginning of your work, sessions will be used to identify your concerns and goals, and to establish a sense of comfort and trust in the relationship.  Follow up appointments are used to address your identified concerns, as well as topics that may come up in your life as we work together.  Due to concerns related to COVID-19 and the need to practice social distancing, I am currently using a HIPAA compliant platform to provide telehealth services.

3.

How long will I need to receive services?

That is a difficult question to answer because there are several factors that play a role in the process, such as your presenting concerns and circumstances.  However, treatment goals will be discussed towards the beginning of the therapeutic relationship and treatment is considered to be complete when the goals are achieved.

4.

I don’t want everyone knowing about my problems.  How can I feel safe coming to talk to you about personal things?

As a licensed psychologist, I follow strict confidentiality standards.  I do not release any information pertaining to your visits with me without your written consent, except in rare situations where safety concern is involved, such as:

  • If you are at imminent risk of harming yourself or others

  • If you disclose of a situation that involves an abuse of children, the  elderly, or disabled individuals

In addition, when ordered by the court, your records may be disclosed as evidence.  Again, these are rare situations, and when appropriate, I will make an effort to talk with you before disclosing confidential information.
